Traffic, control & management

Is among the software’s functions in automated warehouses.

The significance of software

When Zolvo delivers automated systems, software is included in the delivery. The purpose of the software is to control and optimize operations. Below are examples of what the software can include.

We provide training along the way

Before handover, Zolvo ensures thorough testing and on-the-job training, and we help our customers get started as smoothly as possible with their new system.

Warehouse Management System WMS

The WMS system coordinates warehouse operations from the receipt of goods – through picking and packing – to shipping.

The process is monitored from a PC, where goods can be tracked, and inventory levels can be followed. The unique feature of the WMS system is that it automatically determines the most efficient placement of goods and optimizes the flow depending on factors such as the warehouse principle being used.

The WMS system synchronizes with a range of systems such as ERP, e-commerce platforms, as well as transport and logistics systems, and interacts naturally with the company’s other IT systems.

Programmable Logic Controller PLC

The PLC is a control unit that receives signals from sensors, push buttons, etc., and triggers actions based on them.

For example, if the PLC detects that a pallet is entering a system, it will instruct the system that the shuttle should move to a specific location. In other words, it is a very efficient way to control machines and robots.

The PLC can communicate with several systems, including WMS, traffic control, and ERP systems.

Traffic control

In automated systems, traffic control ensures the best path through the warehouse and avoids collisions. It determines which shuttles should go first to the destination and optimizes the flow.

The control helps optimize resource usage and reduce energy consumption.

This software can also be integrated with WMS and PLC.
